Seymour Medical Practice

Clinics

Antenatal Clinic - Friday am

Patents are seen by the midwife and a GP at the clinics by appointment.

Baby Clinic Monday and Wednesday pm

The baby clinics are run by GPs and health visitors for child development checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries.

Diabetic Clinic - Thursday pm

This is run by the practice nurse in conjunction with a doctor, by appointment and via a walk-in clinic. Please check with reception for the current times.

Family Planning

Please call 0117 902 7111 for an appointment.

Well Woman Clinics - Tuesday pm

This clinic is run by a doctor and a practice nurse, for smears, etc and discussion on women's health issues.

Minor Surgery

Certain GPs carry out minor surgical procedures by appointment and the receptionists will be happy to advise you on this.

Non-NHS Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside of surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. The fees charged for these services are in line with the BMA recommended charges.

Patients 75 years and Over

If you are 75 years of age or over, you should be seen annually, either by your doctor, the practice nurse, the district nurse or the health visitor. This can be arranged at the surgery or, if that is not possible, a home visit will be arranged.

Travel Immunisation / Vaccinations

Please make an appointment at least eight weeks prior to your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception. Please remember that appointments are to be made via the treatment room and not via the practice reception. You can call directly on 0117 902 7131.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes.

Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit may be arranged to undertake this facility.

Yellow Fever Vaccinations

This surgery is an authorised Yellow Vaccination Centre.
