The Practice Staff

Practice Manager

Mrs Samantha Walpole PGcertMgt DipPMgt MAMS MinstLM

Samantha is responsible for the management and business running of the practice and the GPs, as well as being the main liaison with outside bodies.

Office Managers

Diane and Eileen are responsible for the day to day running of the receptionist/admin team and the programming of the doctors' appointment screens.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses are a great support to the practice and do a large amount of work with thoses of our patients with chronic diseases.

District Nurses

We have district nurses that work amongst the practice population, but are employed by the Primary Care Trust. They do a large amount of work with our housebound patients.

Other

In the practice team we also have attached, via the Primary Care Trust, health visitors, midwives, treatment room nurses and a podiatrist. The practice also employs two health care assistants to support the clinical work needed by GPs and practice nurses.

General Practitioner, Registrar and Students

Our practice is a training/teaching practice. Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. Registrars are attached to our practice for a number of months and usually become general practitioner partners after completing their training. They are at all times encouraged to seek advice when required from the practice partners.

We are also fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you do not wish to have the student present during your consultation please inform the reception staff prior to seeing the doctor.

When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult with one of our registrars who are excellent doctors, appointed by the practice.

Zero Tolerance

The practice supports the NHS policy of zero tolerance with regard to violence or abuse to the doctors, staff or others on the practice premises or other locations where treatment may take place. Persons abusing this policy may be reported to the police and removed from the practice list.
